Last Month
I expected to have little time, but this was not my month. Everything, especially the non-gamedev things, took longer than expected, and I didn’t have nearly as much time as hoped.
✅️➡️ Asset generation improvements
Assets are now generated and copied where they need to go automatically. I still have to apply it to Lonely Socks, and I want to follow up with another improvement regarding UI theme generation. Overall, this was a big change and I underestimated the effort to integrate it. Only Count Dartula is done so far, and that was difficult to get right too.

This is mostly done, and was only a little bit annoying. I have some new screens for my apps now, and only need to integrate it all into Lonely Socks and Number Collapse.

I went with the over-engineered solution on that one and ended up with a system that I haven’t integrated anywhere yet, but should work nicely if the little alerts don’t have to pop up too fast. If they are spammed, their spawn positions may get corrupted, and there is an engine bug with creation within timer callbacks that I have to be aware of. I spent a lot of time testing those limitations and am glad I did that in a separate and minimal context, and not as part of a game.
✅️ Additional stuff
I found and fixed a bug in Count Dartula, where Darty would mock you even if you hit your target. The fix has not been released yet, but I want to do that as soon as I have everything finished up and tested.
Next Month
The Meowerlords are keeping us busy once again. Our little old lady’s health is in decline, she will need loads of care and attention in the next weeks. It’s unclear how long she will be here to boss us around now, and all gamedev will have to queue behind cat care.
I will keep the Mewsfeed schedule as it is, but take a break from the Top 5 To Dos until I feel like planning makes sense again. Whatever gets done gets mentioned, and if it’s not much, oh well. For now, the focus will be on finishing the tasks that are left over from January.
